1ST MERSEA GUIDES UNVEIL NEW NATURE-BASED PLAYGROUND AT SANDERLING REACH DEVELOPMENT
Children of West Mersea are in for a treat we launch our new coastal-inspired playground at our Sanderling Reach development on Mersea Island in Essex.
Designed with nature and natural play in mind, the playground offers a safe environment for the community’s families to gather and enjoy quality time together.
The 1st Mersea Guides were invited to take part in an activity to name our brand-new play area. Island-themed names such as ‘Oyster Park’ and ‘Coral Park’ were a few of the many favourites but in the end, ‘Sandy Reach’ took the winning title.
The Guides group – and their leaders – took to the climbing frames in their newly named play area after enjoying a few refreshments in the Sales & Marketing Suite.
The natural playground has been built to guide children through a balance trail, including logs, stepping stones and boulders. Adding to the exciting trail, wooden hurdles lead on to a slide and complimentary swing set, ideal for younger children, while parents and guardians can rest and watch on the seating surrounding the play area.
Diana Harrison, 1st Mersea Guides Leader comments, “It was such a lovely opportunity to see and visit the play area the girls’ have named themselves! It’s a really lovely activity to be involved with and something I’m sure they will remember fondly for years to come.”
